The movement of the second hand is in a step motion, with an accuracy within ±30 seconds of deviation each month at normal temperatures. The clock mechanism requires one 1.5V AA battery (not included) and it is important to avoid using alkaline or rechargeable batteries as they can damage the movement.

Clock Movement Replacement: This high torque clock movement features 2 hooks, a long shaft, and the ability to drive long clock hands ranging from 10 mm to 450 mm in length. The total shaft length is 23 mm (29/32 inch) with a thread length of 12mm (15/32 inch), suitable for clock panels with a thickness of 4 - 8 mm (5/ 32 - 5/16 inches). The distance from the center hole to the tip is approximately 203 mm (8.0 inches) for the hour hand and 305 mm (12 inches) for the minute hand.
